Approaching this Corvette Stingray ’71 recording session like we always do, we aimed to capture all the characteristic sounds this car has to offer. With a fully rigged setup we placed microphones in and around the engine bay, around the exhaust and a 5.1 surround sound mic placed in the interior of the car suspended ensuring no rumble or travel noise. We had the driver performing a series of manoeuvres from slow to fast driving while switching gears. Especially the exterior perspective recordings of drive ins and drive offs, pass bys and door shuts.
Recording from different perspectives we have produced isolated onboard recordings of engine, exhaust, interior and two static external trackside positions. We have taken all aspects from pre to post production into consideration by ensuring all audio recordings are timecode jam synced for DAW session reconstruction.
